You may not know Liya Kebede, but you’ve seen her before. The 41 year-old Ethiopian model has been on the cover of Vogue three times, the face of Estée Lauder, and has starred in countless campaigns. She’s also the inspiration for our supermodel chic look.
Plus, she has her own line LemLem and is the WHO Ambassador for Maternal, Newborn, and Children health. Our point is, the woman is seriously stylish and seriously busy. And as we return to our hectic lives and regular routines after the blur of the holidays, we wanted to take a page out of Liya’s style book. Because even if you’re running errands instead of between Paris Fashion week shows, there’s no reason you can’t look every bit as stylish.
All of our outfits right now start with sweaters, so we pulled a couple cream fisherman sweaters for you. L.L. Bean’s cotton version is the original and the classic, and it’s just as good today as ever.Ralph Lauren’s is just as good, but in a heavier wool. Theory’s cashmere cableneck is a little subtler, but still gives the outfit the textural element it needs.
When it comes to jeans, you want them long and straight and true blue. Levi’s, as always, delivers with their Wedgie icon that’s a little bit cropped. L.F. Markley’s high-rise jeans are perfect for anyone on the taller side, because these babies are long. We love this pair from Raey with a looser fit.
Last but not least, coats and boots. Alex Mill’s wool lapel coat is sleek, stylish, and affordable. Club Monaco’s velvet tuxedo coat is one way to add a little more drama into the look, if that’s what you’re into. When it comes to boots, we love these Doc Marten Delphine brogues. But if you want something a little higher end, than Stuart Weitzman has the perfect pair for you.
