The holidays are in full swing, and I don’t know about you, but I’m excited for holiday dressing. Think of sequin skirts perfect for nights out, luxurious velvet to keep the chill away, and rich jewel tones that still stand out in the dark winter nights. It’s been two years since we had holiday parties, so make up for lost time by refreshing your closet with pieces that will make you sparkle and shine like a flute of champagne.
Let’s start with the high wattage stuff, shall we? Tory Burch’s sequin slip dress in inky black is absolutely gorgeous, and J.Crew’s festive red sequin dress would definitely turn heads. I would wear Banana Republic’s sequined, pleated skirt with a crisp white button-down. BB Dakota’s champagne-sequined duster adds instant holiday cheer to your favorite black pants, but you could always just add a black blazer to keep it monochromatic. These Anthropologie wide-leg sequined pants give off major disco vibes, which we obviously love.
You don’t have to sparkle to metaphorically shine, though. If you’re less into sequins and more into solids, there are still plenty of options that bring the holiday spirit. J.Crew’s sleek tuxedo blazer paired with a tuxedo blouse is a favorite, and L’Agence’s black tweed Angelina blazer reminds us of Chanel at half the price. This black boatneck velvet dress from J.Crew looks like something right out of Sophia Loren’s glory days, and this black-and-white top with large white polka dots is a total showstopper.
Adding a statement coat is always an instant dose of glamorous, and there’s something about this Alex Mill black watch plaid coat is stuck in our minds. This teddy coat or this faux fur coat, both from Anthropologie, make sure you’ll look fantastic even in the snowiest of December nights.
