I can’t believe I’m saying this, but holiday travel season is right around the corner. Between security lines and flight delays, it’s more important than ever to make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way. A suitcase and carry on with plenty of pockets and packing cubes to make packing easier, and a go-to flying uniform of cozy sweaters, pants and sneakers.
Let’s start with the most important part: your suitcases! I am obsessed with everything Paravel does. Everything is high-quality and the design is nostalgic but still glamorous. The Aviator Carry-On is a perfect piece of luggage, and you can slide the Cabana tote on over the handle for easy travel. I also love the fold-up backpack!
One way I like to dress up my airport outfits is by keeping it monochromatic. A matching color palette immediately elevates any look, especially sweatpants. Of course, Jenni Kayne has a beautiful set in an oatmeal shade if you’re feeling brave. Gap, who has been looking very good lately, has a woven set in an excellent shade of olive green.
Rag & Bone makes a pair of pajama jeans that are incredibly chic. Yes, I said it. They are sweatpants that look like jeans, and they’re incredibly chic!!! Just throw on one of your comfiest knits, like this Mango turtleneck sweater or this cream cashmere crewneck from La Ligne and you’ll look positively runway ready compared to other travelers.
Finally, you’re going to need to finish off the outfit with the right coat and sneakers. COS’s black puffer coat comes with a drawstring, so you can create a belted silhouette easily. Gap’s Big Puff in a powdery blue velvet is a winter wonderland dream. I like to bring a sneaker that will also work with trousers and jeans, like these Nike Air Max 90s in a clean white with navy accents or classic Adidas superstars. A colorful, retro-feeling Nike Daybreak sneaker does the job too.
