I love the color pink. During the pandemic, it’s something I’ve been drawn to even more. Did you know that pink is used in color therapy for love, compassion, and nurturing? Instead of my usual neutrals, when I’ve been getting dressed in the morning it’s all about having fun. And there’s nothing more fun than pink. I’m not talking about pastels. I’m talking about hot pink, specifically. The brighter the better.
The first thing that comes to mind? A pretty, femme sundress in a punchy pink shade. Free People can always be counted on for a great flowy dress, and this floral print is romantic and femme. this pink on pink plaid patterned dress, and the long sleeves are an easy way to cover your arms if you’re feeling self-conscious. This Playa Lucila eyelet maxi dress is dramatic and dressy, but still beach-y and comfortable.
Separates are just as snappy. This linen pair of pants is surprisingly versatile, and I love the detailing on this cardigan, which I would wear with white cropped jeans and a pair of leather slides. This short-sleeve cashmere t-shirt is a great transitional piece, and you could style it with slouchy boyfriend jeans or a silk skirt.
It doesn’t have to be solid hot pink either. Play around with pattern like on this gingham pair of slides, this two-tone stripe button down, or this vibrant, polka-dotted blouse.
Wanting to keep your hot pink more on the accessory level? That works, too! These cat-eye glasses are super fun. How about an extra large hat that is equal parts sun protection and style? Or a pair of flip-flops that would look great lounging poolside? Or, my personal favorite, a bubblegum pink pair of Birkenstocks?
