There’s nothing chicer than a French woman. And while we can’t guarantee you’ll magically be able to roll out of bed and look as put together as French women, you’ll definitely have a certain amount of je ne sais quoi if you follow these French style tips.
Stripes are forever going to be associated with Parisian women, but we’re freshening it up this season. With the leftover chill in the air, we’re transferring our stripes from t-shirts to sweaters, like this gorgeous Tory Burch turtleneck. La Ligne, a brand that prides itself on the perfect stripes, also has a red, white, and blue-stripe cream sweater that make all our Brigitte Bardot dreams come true.
Then, throw on a perfectly tailored blazer to add a little bit of polish and versatility to your outfit. This Raey blazer’s exaggerated proportions are a great way to inject a little bit of trendiness into a classic piece. J.Crew’s navy and white piped blazer is also a piece we reach for again and again. You want the perfect pair of vintage-inspired jeans. Think Audrey Hepburn’s classic black cigarette pants, but in denim. That means high-waisted and straight leg, like these Tory Burch lighter-wash pair.
If we’re talking French women, we have to talk about Chanel. Specifically a never-go-out-of-style, always chic pair of black ballerina flats. J.Crew’s cream and navy blue pair are a little more suited for the upcoming warmer weather.
Finally, accessories. For us, that means a perfectly elegant Hermes scarf that you can tie around your neck, around your head, or even around the handle of your bag. But you can’t always run out to the nearest Hermes store, so we shop online at The Real Real. Look at this stunning Charmes des Plagues scarf. Toss all your essentials into this Mansur Gavriel bucket bag, and oh la la. You’re ready to go.
