Yes, of course I love my uniform, but there’s no reason you can’t go outside the box! What I’m loving for July is creating versatility with those uniform pieces. A pair of wide-leg trousers is a staple in my closet, but pairing it with a special, splurge-worthy heel is a very different vibe from wearing it with a flat. Keep the rest of the outfit easy with a perfectly fitting white t-shirt or a summer sweater!
The formula is wide-leg pant + top + fun shoe, so let’s start with the anchor: the wide-leg pants! In the header image, I’m wearing the Jenni Kayne Relaxe trouser are a summer dream. You can always count on COS for high-style contemporary clothes at a fair price, and their tailoring is especially great. These white linen pants and these high-waisted pleated khakis are both very good. Banana Republic’s paperboy pant comes in a vibrant electric blue for all the color-obsessed fashionistas.
Next up, time for the top. Let’s keep it simple and easy with clean, minimal lines and neutral colors. Jenni Kayne’s linen sweater is a rich caramel shade is breezy, and you can easily dress it up with a heel and fun jewelry. I love it in black, too. Clare V’s slightly cropped raglan sweater with fun piping is the perfect height for high-waisted pants. A linen-blend t-shirt from Banana Republic is a hot-weather option, too!
On to the shoes! A splurge-worthy pair of heels or flats is definitely not an everyday purchase. But they can bring the extra fashion flair to what otherwise feels like an average outfit. These woven Chloe sneakers are so special – there’s nothing else that looks like them and I get compliments every time I wear them. Dior’s ballerina slingback flat gives Audrey Hepburn vibes, while their checkered Dior slide feels more South of France. Feeling your heels again? Gucci’s open-toed python pump is going to be glamorous forever, and a refreshing break from logo mania.
Now all you need to do is throw on a pair of your favorite sunglasses, and you’re ready for whatever the day might throw at you! Shop the rest of our loving for July edit below:
