I might as well call this the summer of caftans. Mirth has made that perfectly clear. The brand, founded by two sisters with a love for travel and a desire to create a clothing brand in a more sustainable way. The handmade fabrics are sourced from artisanal communities in India, providing an ethical way to support the artists.
The easy, breezy kaftans and resort wear pieces are exactly the kind of thing I want to wear all summer long. They’re comfortable, beautifully made, and totally flattering. Let’s start with some of my favorites. The Coba Caftan is everything you want in a true caftan. It’s perfect for breezing through your backyard at all the al fresco affairs you’ll be hosting this year.
This super soft, super fine gray coverup called the Bali is one of my favorites. The long-but-still-short flared sleeve and the modern design, it transitions just as easily to an afternoon out on the town. The Palm Springs dress is a little bit longer than knee length, and the loose fit and puffy sleeves make it as easy to wear as it is to pack.
On the more fitted side of things, the Perth silhouette is slimmer through the bodice in a beautiful lilac floral pattern. The Montreal dress gathers around the waist, and the pretty cotton silk fabric means you can dress it up for a night out or just out for lunch.
It’s not just dresses! They make amazing separates, too. You know I can’t resist a kimono. This Laos robe in a punchy teal will look amazing over white jeans and a white tank top, finished off with some leather sandals. This green peacock skirt has an elastic waist that feel as great as it looks.
