Yes, I love Frank and Eileen. Yes, I talk about them a lot on Get In The Groove. But I really think they deserve every word of praise they get! They started with a near-perfect white button down shirt and haven’t looked back, creating the kind of everyday essentials that can make you feel stylish and intentional even if you’re just sitting down at your desk to write emails all day. Take, for example, my latest Frank and Eileen obsession: the Monterey sweater.
This is the brand’s first true knitwear sweater, made with cotton yarn dyed in Italy and then knitted in California. So what makes this sweater so covetable? For me, there’s something so nostalgic about a roll neck silhouette. It’s elegant and easygoing without being too precious. Honestly, this sweater makes me feel like I’m in the pages of a 90s catalogue or the hero in a Nancy Meyers movie.
The color I’ve been wearing the most lately is the cream, which shouldn’t shock anyone who reads this site. I love my neutrals, and beige is never boring around here. Nice basics in neutrals provide the building block to any wardrobe, creating a color palette you can play around with.
But sometimes you need a little jolt of color, and Frank & Eileen understand that too. The Kelly Green color is just the right level of brightness to keep it from feeling heavy or too masculine. And while it’s not exactly a color, sometimes stripes can perk up your entire outfit. The navy-and-white stripes or cream-and-white stripes make neutrals feel a little more interesting without getting out of your color comfort zone.
