New Year’s Eve Dressing: What We’re Wearing This Year

A little sparkle goes a long way.

New Year’s Eve Dressing: What We’re Wearing This Year

Like almost everything else about 2020, New Year’s Eve looks a little different this year. I’ll be celebrating at home with Bob, indulging in some really great champagne as we look forward to 2021. But there’s no reason not to be festive! That means a more casual way to do sparkles, with a fun top and comfy pants instead of going all-out. And when all else fails, you can just put on every piece of bling in your closet with your favorite sweatsuit. Without further ado: our Guide to New Year’s Eve Dressing.

Basically, the plan is to pick one sparkly or sequined item for the festive factor. And then you can rely on your comfortable standards. How about this tulle wrapped cardigan that will make you look like the prettiest present on Christmas. Feeling a little dressier? You can’t go wrong with a long-sleeved rose gold blouse that will look great with cashmere joggers or jeans. This sheer black sequined top for a flattering and easy outfit.

Feeling ambitious? I love this tiger-print sequined blazer or this long, multi-colored sparkly duster that I would wear with a white t-shirt and black pants. Maybe even these black velvet palazzo pants. This white maxi skirt dotted with crystals would be perfect with a giant chunky sweater. Even if you just want to stay in your usual sweats as a last hurrah, jazz it up with some glitter-y sneakers. Or stay in your slippers and throw on an extra-bling-y pair of earrings to make up for it. I love these bow earrings, these pearl drops, or this statement chandelier pair.
