I’ve been slowly transitioning my closet over to spring and summer. Bye bye heavy cashmere and boots, hello sundresses and sandals! There are so many sandals to choose from, and we wanted to give you options! From barely-there minimalist slides to raffia-accented ones, there’s something for everyone out there. When it comes to a summer sandal, I want to be able to dress it up or down easily, and it has to be comfortable!! The kind of shoes you take on a vacation for walking around during the day and to wear out to dinners at night. M.Gemi’s new Medio sandal is strappy but not too delicate, comes in a ton of different colors, and just feels European. Sam Edelman’s Bay Cutout Sandal is a famously great dupe of the Hermes slides.
These brands can be counted on for getting designer looks at a much friendlier price tag. For example, the Row’s platform leather flip-flops are a favorite of the fashion set everywhere. But instead of shelling out almost $1000 for those, you can get these Alohas platform flip flops or M.Gemi’s The Rosella sandals. You would recognize the woven leather Bottega Veneta shoes anywhere, and these creamy suede J.McLaughlin slides have the same distinct texture!
Of course, every summer I have my trusty everyday sandals, and then a more special, maximalist pair for special nights out. These Pucci-esque hot pink and white slides are FUN! I would wear with cropped white jeans, or my favorite slip dress. While minimalist in its t-strap silhouette, these Jeffrey Campbell shoes amp up the bling factor with a row of pearls. These Bibi Lou sandals in a buttery yellow shade have fun, oversized rhinestone buckles for a decidedly femme take on the Birkenstock. Plus, the color would look really good with a tan.
