Nothing screams holiday party like some extra sequins – but you don’t have to save these sweaters for special nights only. Throw on a sequined sweater with your favorite jeans and bring some much-needed holiday cheer wherever you go!
Let’s start at the top(s). While a sparkly sweater might seem a little bit extra, they’re actually one of the easiest pieces to style. After all, what is this grey sequin top if not an upgraded t-shirt? I also love how the fabric slouches instead of staying stiff. The relaxed shape makes it much easier to wear in day-to-day life. For a more colorful approach, I also love this pink-and-green Anthro number.
An easy way to dress down sequins? A super-chunky sweater. I love the subtle shine woven in the fabric of this Anthropologie sweater or the black sequin floral patches on the sleeves of this great gray Splendid sweater. For a cozier take on the lady jacket, this bronze L’Agence cardigan is a great statement piece you’ll wear long after the party ends. On the more fitted side, Mango’s sparkly silver v-neck looks wonderful layered over a favorite silk shirt, or even on its own for a sexier look.
I really love a sequined skirt or pant around this time of year. Frame’s black jeans with beaded pockets feel positively couture. Imagine it with a black tissue turtleneck and sky high black stilettos. Imagine these slinky black sequined J. McLaughlin trousers with a pair of ballet flats and a cosy sweater. Is it a party story if I don’t talk about sparkly skirts? There’s just the right amount of stretch in this gold Banana Republic skirt, and the rich cranberry color of this Veronica Beard skirt is begging for a matching lipstick shade.
