Blue is one of the most quintessentially summery colors. Think about it. You’ve got blue skies, the different blues of water from the beach to the pool, even the deep, rich blues of hydrangeas in bloom. From navy blue to sky blue to Yves Klein blue, the color is pretty much perfect in all of its forms. We put together our shades of blue edit so you can spend the season in one of our favorite colors.
Let’s start with a personal favorite: navy. Navy blue is basically a neutral, and especially during the summer. It’s a little preppy, a little nautical, and always cool. This navy and white La Line cotton sweater is perfect for chilly nights, even if you’re not on a beach. These statement pants in a large scale floral print are breezy but elegant. This beach-y sundress can take you from the pool to happy hour in the blink of an eye. When in doubt, throw on a tie-dye maxidress.
Moving on to some of the lighter shades, like sky blue. Mirth’s floral sundress with a capped flutter sleeve is an easy way to guarantee a cute outfit. I love Anthropologie’s kimonos, and this striped-and-polka dotted one would look just as cute over a swimsuit as it does with jeans. Farm Rio’s version comes with it’s own belt, and a more botanical print.
I’m obsessed with Tuckernuck’s quarter-zip sweater, which I would wear with white jeans and leather sandals. Kule’s striped sweater in a color they call ‘Scandi Blue’ is as cool as you’d expect. These printed pants from J.McLaughlin look like they’re made out of your favorite toile wallpaper. J.Crew’s linen pant in a pale blue and white seersucker prove that you can be comfy and stylish.
