Whether you’re taking the trip of a lifetime to some exotic location or just getting away for a quick weekend somewhere new, traveling is especially exciting in the summer. There are certain things I always travel with: layers to account for different temperatures, pants and shoes that are comfortable but polished. And of course, carry-ons that will be pull double duty when you arrive at your vacation and a cute suitcase to boot. Keep reading to see the rest of our summer travel essentials.
The ideal travel outfit keeps it comfortable, and I’m starting with the Ninety Percent black pants. They have a little bit of stretch and the kick flare silhouette adds a little more fashion. Spanx has a great version too, with just enough smoothing and lifting to make you feel your best. If you’re more of a wide leg gal, Spanx has a pair of those too.
I’m absolutely committed to my Birkenstocks, which I’ll sometimes wear with a pair of socks just to get through the airport. They’re the perfect travel shoe because they look as good with sweats as your favorite date night dress. Our Vintage sweatshirt is perfect for all those chilly plane rides, and throwing a jean jacket on over it will guarantee you’ve got all possibilities covered. Levi’s jean jacket is classic, as is this J.Crew one.
The most important thing when you’re traveling is that you have luggage that makes your life easier. You need well-organized pieces, like this Beis carryon that has a separate compartment for your shoes and a nifty laptop pocket. The Beis backpack is a great option, too. When it comes to actual luggage, you can’t go wrong with Rimowa’s aluminum roller. I love the Beis roller too, which comes equipped with organizer pockets. I love having a few of these Patterned travel pouches for keeping headphones and chargers neat and tidy.
