I love a trouser as much as the next gal, but sometimes I just want to be comfortable. I don’t need a heavy wool or a stiff chino. Enter: the active pant with a twist. These tech pants look like a trouser, but have the stretchy, comfy tech fabric that feels more like a workout pant. You’ll wear them all fall long.
Donni is one of those cool LA brands I’m always hearing about for their elevated basics. The proportions of their pants are similar to your favorite sweatpant, but the perfect crop and slightly dropped crotch of the Silk Stripe Pant turn it into something more fashionable. I really love the subtle shine of the silk fabric, and the stripe down the side injects it with some sportiness. In the header image, I’m wearing Athleta’s navy and white high rise track pant which has a similar vibe at a lower price point.
For a more trouser-y pant, Athleta’s high rise trouser. This is the pant I could do basically anything in – and I love that the khaki-ish color is different from the sea of tech-y black versions out there. The really high rise, elastic waist, and wide leg are super flattering. The subtle pleats add polish. And speaking of unusual colors, I love these light lilac sweats from Cos.
The color of the season is chocolate brown, and these cuffed sweats from Varley perfectly exhibit the power of the shade. Varley is a brand that sits halfway between fashion and athletic wear so I’m not surprised they pulled it off. Their wide-leg silhouette in a classic black is really good, too.
