I don’t know what it’s been like in your city, but Los Angeles had a long, cold, rainy spring. It finally feels like summer is here to stay with hot days and warm nights. I’m dressing accordingly, and I’m drawn towards everything white, light, and breezy. Think lace shirt dresses, swing-y tops, and crochet statement pieces. I plan on doing them justice up until Labor Day, and even after, too.
I’m starting with a real showstopper: this halter dress from Johnathon Simkhai that is the perfect example of the crochet trend. It has a little something for everyone. It can be boho, contemporary, or feminine deepening on how you style it. I love the cream and brown color scheme with pops of black, and would wear it to the pool and then out for drinks after, too. Continuing with the crochet vibes Anthropologie’s white woven poncho top would look excellent for a chilly night on the beach by a bonfire, or a sunny day at the pool.
Tops and dresses with feminine, dreamy elements have also caught my eye. Who doesn’t love a ruffle-y, romantic white dress in the summer? Anthropologie’s eyelet dress is tiered and long, and personally I love the longer cap sleeve. COS’s lacey white shirt dress is a dressier way to embrace the romantic vibe. I’m imagining it with a pair of chic sandals and an ice cold glass of rosé at a cocktail party.
My white jeans are on heavy rotation, and I’ve been looking for some fresh tops to keep it feeling fresh. These long-sleeved blouse from & Other Stories will finish your outfit off with a cute little bow at the back. If you’re looking for something a little lighter, this COS twist-back sleeveless top has a more modern, sculptural vibe.
When it comes to shoes, I’m drawn to a summery heeled raffia sandal which will go with absolutely everything. Don’t forget the straw tote to match!
