In the summer, I’m always kicking around in a pair of white sneakers. By the time fall comes around, they feel a little beat up. Maybe you want something a little more unusual, a little more special. I’m obsessed with these Larroude Stella sneakers, which look like a pair of English brogues and sneakers had a baby. It’s the perfect contrast between formal and casual, black and white, and leather and suede. I also love it in shiny black patent leather, perfectly accessorized with a pair of cherry red laces. Veronica Beard’s Riviera sneaker has a more unusual shape, like a soccer cleat. I love the touches of cream, and the brown laces. It’s a masterclass in mixing neutrals.
Alex Eagle’s collaboration with J.Crew has many fabulous pieces, but I’m especially drawn to the black-on-black sneakers. A little bit of nylon, a little bit of leather, and all the way chic. A perfect combination of sporty and polished.
