The holidays are the perfect time to curl up with a good book during a lazy afternoon or a cozy night in. Our editors put together a list of their favorite reads of the year, from family dramas to Agatha Christie-esque mysteries. And, of course, the most stylish reading glasses to go with them.
My favorite book I read this year was Among Friends by Hal Ebbott, a slim novel that I devoured over the course of one weekend. A piercing, clever story about two men who have been friends for forever, and how it can be wiped away in a moment. I recommend reading it with a glass of red wine, and these bookish, tortoiseshell Miklos frames from Caddis.
If you’re looking for something a little more fun, look no further than Workhouse by Caroline Palmer. Written by a former Vogue writer, it’s the story of one woman who arrives at a fashion magazine and dedicates her life to climbing the social ladder. It’s a little bit The Devil Wears Prada, a little bit Talented Mr. Ripley, and entirely addicting. Pair with a fun, fashion-y pair of reading glasses like these pink-tinted aviator glasses from Caddis or these swirly blue tie-dyed Eyebobs glasses.
While I haven’t started it yet, The Director by Daniel Kehlmann is the book I just bought to dig into this break. An epic novel inspired by the life of real life director G.W. Pabst, it digs into the life of a man who fled to Hollywood to avoid the Nazis, only to return and end up making propaganda films for the Third Reich. A NYT best book of 2025, I plan to read it with an ice cold martini, my coziest cashmere sweater, and these retro black CADDIS readers.
