CASHMERE EDIT
I’m not saying that a cashmere sweater is boring. I would never say that, because it’s one of my favorite things in the world. But this year, due to the prominence of loungewear, it does feel like cashmere has a few new silhouettes. I’m talking about unexpected interpretations in sleek joggers, boyish polos, and cozy ponchos.
First, the poncho. This is the kind of piece that, in a regular world, I would always have in my carry-on whenever I was flying. It’s easy to travel, but more importantly right now, it’s just about the chicest security blanket anyone could ever have. I love it in oatmeal or black, and of course the perfect shade of winter white.
I’m loving every minute of the prep resurgence, so Everlane’s cashmere polo was at the top of my list. I’m going to wear it with sweats and my favorite broken-in denim. It’s a similar vibe to Naadam’s henley hoodie, which reinvents a prep school favorite with an undeniably luxe twist.
Turtlenecks are still the It Knit of the season, so get one that you love. Like this perfectly oversized one from Nadaam , this mockneck in a chic stripe, or this romantic ruffled version from Anthropologie?
Athleisure is getting that same luxe treatment. How about swapping in your fleece sets for a cashmere hoodie and joggers? I love the rich, oxblood color of this set from from Nadaam, which feels like the perfect pair to have for the holiday season. If it’s too hot for you to even start thinking about holiday, baby step out of summer with a cashmere t-shirt.
And if you just want a regular cashmere crew, switch it up with an unexpected color like this perfectly buttery yellow from Everlane. Or hot pink or royal blue from J.Crew. And you can never go wrong with leopard.
