Today is about ease, comfort, and effortlessness. Today is about the drawstring pant! I call them the easy pant, which has gotten a serious makeover. Gone are the sad, droopy sweatpants of the past. Now they come in beachy linen blends, sophisticated slinky silks, and fun patterns. Shop our edit at Nordstrom below.
In the header image, I’m wearing these cream colored pants from Mango. They’re the perfect pant for dressing up or just wearing around the house. I paired it with this ribbed cardigan from Splendid and a gold thong sandal. The tonal color palette really elevates it into something more expensive, even though none of the pieces are breaking the bank.
Maybe my favorite way of wearing them? In a slinky satin. They might feel like fancy pajamas, but there’s something so 1940s movie star about wearing them with a kitten heel and a matching top. Or some wonderful contrast by pairing it with your favorite t-shirt and sporty Birkenstock sandals. These Topshop white satin trousers have a wonderful wide leg cut and thick waistband, and these Reformation pants in an inky black have utilitarian details like cargo pockets to dress them down a bit. I really love these Kate Young x Splendid high-waisted pants in a rich midnight navy color. The ribbon drawstring really makes them feel special.
Of course, the more traditional easy pant is in a more casual fabric, like linen. I live in linen all summer due to it’s breezy breathability. They can feel really effortless and crisp as long as you iron them, and even wrinkled there’s a certain Nancy Meyers charm to them. I love this summery white pant and this black Two Palms pant, because the black brings a certain seriousness to the linen. The same thing goes for this Michael Stars pair in navy.
