The Essentials Edit: Long Sleeve T-shirts

Your new perfect long sleeve t-shirt awaits.

The Essentials Edit: Long Sleeve T-shirts

It’s that time of year again, when we switch out our closets and officially say goodbye to short sleeves. Long sleeves are the name of the game right now, and our latest Essentials Edit is all about finding the perfect long sleeve t-shirts. There’s a certain criteria for this. The shirts must be comfortable and not be too clingy. They must be layer-able underneath the many sweaters, blazers, and jackets we’ll be rotating through this season. And they should come in more than one color, so we can truly stock up. That being said, here are our winners.

This shouldn’t surprise you, but Everlane makes some mighty fine t-shirts. In fact, the perfect t-shirt is what their whole empire was founded on. We love their slim cotton long-sleeve crew, which skims but doesn’t cling. It comes in a few different colors, and lays perfectly under a cashmere sweater. Plus at $22, it’s hard to find a better priced t-shirt for this quality.  If you’re looking for something a little more casual, they also have a fantastic waffle t-shirt for maximum cozy nights by a fire.

On the pricier (but worth it!) end of the spectrum, there’s the Raey Slub Cotton t-shirt in black and a lightly heathered gray. It’s so comfortable, and gets bonus points for being one of the longest shirts out there. Also on the pricier but worth it end of the spectrum is our friend Eileen Fisher, specifically this bateau neckline shirt.

Finally, because we can never resist a little bit of French style, we picked out some striped options too. A girl can get sick of solid colors, and sometimes in the drab winter you need a little bit of Paris to pick you up. J.Crew has two different options we love: a classic boatneck and one in slub cotton as well.
