I was a golfer before the pandemic, but during quarantine I got a little obsessive. It’s outdoors, it’s exercise, and it’s fun – who can blame me? And since I’ve heard more and more stories of friends getting into golf and tennis during this time, I thought I’d put together an edit of the cutest sportswear that follows the dress code, but still makes you feel cute whether you’re on the court or the course.
One of my go-to brands for stylish athletic wear is Tory Sport. She brings her classic sensibility with a twist to pieces like this seriously cute performance dress, which feels retro and modern at the same time. This tech-fabric skirt with a cute front frill would look amazing paired up with this tennis windbreaker walking onto a court.
When it comes to the golf course, These yellow plaid pants are exactly what people think of when it comes to golf prints but in a good way. I also love this navy-and-white patterned cardigan, which I would wear with white Bermuda shorts. Tuckernuck has a similarly preppy offering with a bit of a Southern feel, like this green-and-white gingham skirt with piping or this tennis tote complete with custom monogram.
Outdoor Voices’s Exercise Dress is a best-seller, and with the supportive straps and built-in shorts (complete with phone pocket!), it’s easy to see why. This Tory Sport printed performance pleated dress is just the right length for golf, so you won’t accidentally flash someone when you’re following through your backswing.
Peter Millar’s sporty, minimalist designs keep things to the point. Like this white long-sleeve polo with clean lines for some sun coverage, or this blue-and-white wrap skirt in a performance fabric. Don’t forget to throw on a visor, either straw or crisp white cotton to keep your face protected from the sun.
