Veronica Beard is one of the coolest designers out there. With her signature feminine but with an edge style, I knew I’d be able to find some pieces of hers for the upcoming holiday season. Whether you’re looking to dress up in slinky, silky suit separates or go a little more traditional with jeans and blazers, you’ll find something great.
Let’s start with the header image: a silky, slinky black suit with white piping. It’s your favorite pair of pajamas meets red carpet glamour, and it’s the perfect way to slip back into occasion dressing. The double-breasting and wrap tie on the blazer is flattering on everyone, and what’s not to love about that?!
Up next: let’s talk about our uniform pieces. The things we can count on to look good, everyday. The Gilda oversized shirt is something I throw on over and over again, with cigarette pants or boyfriend jeans. The Melinda crewneck sweater (in grey or gold) is lightweight with subtle metallic threading woven into the fabric, so it feels extra glam even if you’re just wearing it with leggings. Other sweater silhouettes, like this cream cable-knit or this tan-and-black Fair Isle sweater, bring a fresh twist that even Ralph Lauren would be proud of.
You can’t talk about Veronica Beard without talking about her tailoring. Her signature blazer is a favorite of mine, whether it’s in a grey houndstooth, an autumnal herringbone print, or this chestnut brown leather. This waxed black leather version with gold buttons is a throwback to 80s fashion, in a good way. And don’t forget your dickey, which you can slip under any jacket in either a classic black, this more seasonal stripe, or a perfectly cable-knit number.
