Is it just me, or does holiday dressing feel more fun than it ever has? With the last two years of COVID in the past, it seems like nobody is taking party season for granted. This month, I’m loving a festive approach to all aspects of dressing. From sparkles to polished cloth coats to dangly earrings, shop what I’m loving for December below.
After Black Friday, my Banana Republic gold brocade suit is almost completely sold out, but you can check to see if you’ll get lucky! But don’t fear, there are plenty of fun, festive suit options out there. This Ankvas metallic suit feels the closest – I love the wide-leg trouser and the buttons on the blazer. You don’t have to stick to suiting though!
These silver coated jeans from J.Crew or these Moody silver lame pants that I have on my Christmas list are both casual enough to wear everyday with a t-shirt. J.Crew’s gold lamé tuxedo shirt will always be in season. If you really want to go for it, how about a metallic leather trench coat in the most gorgeous bronze?
Speaking of coats, if metallic feels too maximalist, a proper cloth coat adds polish to any outfit – even your sweats! Tory Burch’s double-faced overcoat in black is as timeless as it gets, AYR’s The Closer coat fulfills all of our camel fantasies, and Saks’ belted grey robe coat is like wearing pajamas out of the house.
Finally, the accessories! I’m back in heels, but the lower the better. Like these slingback, golden leather shoes from M.Gemi. Gucci’s block heel is a great height too, and Loeffler Randall’s shoes have a bow so pretty you could put it underneath the Christmas tree. I’ve been eyeing these extra-dramatic earrings from Tory Burch that feel like the cross between an Italian glassblower and a disco ball. They’d be perfect with a white statement shirt. I would wear these starry chandelier earrings from J.Crew with a little black dress on New Year’s Eve.
