There are a lot of things I want this year: world peace, an easily distributed vaccine, or spending time with my friends indoors for example. But I don’t think I’ll find any of those wrapped up neatly with a bow when I’m opening presents. So this is the What We Want gift guide featuring the best of home, fashion, and lifestyle we really want, and can also be purchased from the safety of our own computers.
Comfy but chic clothing is at the top of my list this year. Since I’m not going anywhere for the next few months, I want to feel and look good while at home. That means elevated basics like this Everlane half-zip or this Alex Mills cable knit in oatmeal. This Vince sweater in mint reads more like a neutral. A custom monogrammed cashmere sweater from Ralph Lauren is as good as it gets. I could use a new pair of slippers, and these Margaux ones with a bow are very fun.
With another few months of home workouts ahead of me, I could use an upgrade. I’ve had my eye on a mini-trampoline aka a rebounder for months. The workouts look a lot more fun (and easier on the joints!) than endless squats and hand weights. These striped sneakers from Adidas are perfect for long walks with Ruby, my goldendoodle puppy. And a Hyperice for massaging all my sore muscles.
Am I feeling lucky? I would be if I had this good luck pendant necklace from Jennifer Meyer.
Checkerboard is everywhere this year, and this navy and black statement coat is a more subtle but still fabulous take on the trend. This navy and brown puffer from Kule is a sportier option.
I desperately miss getting a blowout at Dry Bar, but the new Dyson AirWrap set would take away the sting. Perfume is a great gift, because I never think to buy it for myself. As I move towards clean beauty, this Heretic Dirty Rose perfume smells amazing, and I love the bottle.
