I’ve never been one to follow a fashion rule. Why should I pack up my white pants after Labor Day? You just have to wear them a little differently when summer ends. I’ll be taking inspiration from this all-white outfit with a leather jacket and Chucks that add just the right amount of cool.
The real key to this outfit, for me, is getting the perfect pair of white pants. This is not the time for you skinny jeans. To pull this off, you’ll have to get a little slouchy. I love the extreme barrel shape of these white cotton Sanctuary pants. But that might be a little avant garde, so these Frank and Eileen chinos or these Vineyard Vines pants might be more comfortable. Just in case you absolutely need a pair of skinnies, these Nilli Lotan pants will do the trick.
You don’t need to overthink the white t-shirt. You already know your preferred silhouette, so let me show off a few options: pocket shirt, vintage-inspired from Jenni Kayne, oversized from Tuckernuck. The leather jacket is the real showstopper up top. There needs to be a biker element to rough up all that pretty white. Try this Madewell jacket, this slightly oversized version, or the cult-favorite from All-Saints.
Finally, it’s time for accessories. Black sneakers will tie the black jacket together. In the inspo image, she’s wearing Converse. But if you already have a pair of Sambas kicking around from the summer, that works too. Just toss all of your stuff into a big fluffy leather clutch that looks like a cloud. Yes, I’m talking about Bottega – but Quince’s lookalike leather version will fool even the sharpest eye.
