In the middle of a holiday party season full of color and sparkles there’s something so pretty about winter whites. It just feels rich! Even if you’re just in sweats, wearing all white can completely elevate it. The key to an interesting outfit? Make sure you play with different textures to add some visual interest – and to keep a Tide pen in your purse.
The first thing that comes to mind for winter white? An extra-cozy sweater you can burrow right into. Naked Cashmere’s extra-chunky cable knit sweater is a perfectly classic option that would look especially good as an apres-ski number. For a more modern and minimal take, try La Ligne’s Marcel sweater. Varley’s extra-large knit cropped sweater would dress up any pair of sweatpants. And when in doubt, there is always Jenni Kayne. Their famous cotton fisherman sweater and cocoon crewneck are warm enough to wait out a snowstorm.
On to the next step: bottoms. White jeans are great because you’ll keep wearing them in the summer, too. It’s always fun to try out a little something more special like these rag & bone cargo jeans. You can’t go wrong with a classic Mother pair either!
Finally, finish off your outfit with a bit of unexpected texture. On the more casual side Varley has a couple of fleece jackets – one in a shorter length and one in a knee length, that you can wear with anything. Of course you can’t go wrong with a sherpa jacket, either. Finally, if you want the full 70s rock star faux-fur Bianca Jagger vibe, this J.Crew coat will do the trick. Just throw on an incredibly luxurious ribbed scarf and your favorite white shoes. Just like that, you’ve mastered the winter white look!
