Kaftans are an important part of every closet. You can dress them up or down, they’re easy to style, and they’re equally fabulous and flattering. No wonder I can’t get enough of them lately. The best part? They’re completely versatile, and there’s one that fits every personal style.
On the more bohemian side of things, I can’t stop thinking about this Tory Burch dress. I love the longer-but-still-short-sleeves, the classic blue and white color combination, and the beauty of the print. You can wear it anywhere this summer.
Johnny Was’s high drama caftan is mixed print, using black and white polka dots as well as colorful florals for a dress that shouldn’t work, but definitely does. It’s perfect for those of us with more maximalist tendencies. COS’s patterned kaftan isn’t quite as loud, but the pattern is interesting and kind of psychedelic. You’ll look like a really well-dressed extra from an episode of Mad Men
Le Sireneuse, the famous hotel in Positano, has a line of dresses and this printed lion and monkey one is a favorite. It looks like it would be a really expensive wallpaper, in the very best way.
All of Tory Burch dresses right now are amazing, like this beach-y but elevated striped number in a beige and blue palette. Stripes are actually having a bit of a moment, like this tan and white one with a cinched waist which feels a little bit dressier. This mint-and-white dress is slightly on the more casual size, and I’ll be wearing it as a swimsuit coverup a lot.
This butterfly printed kaftan feels completely modern and really different to your idea of a kaftan. This colorful, graphic kaftan from Free People has a similar vibe. They really prove that there’s one for every style.
