20 Pairs of Ballet Flats That Are Always In Style

Is there anything chicer than a ballerina? The leotards, the slicked back hair, and of course the slippers. Audrey Hepburn’s favorite flat has fallen out of fashion favor in the last few years, after the Tory Burch boom. But as with all trends, what goes around comes around, and this fall people are in love with ballet flats again.

How do they feel fresh this time around? Modern ballet flats have new fashion-forward details, like a square toe or a higher cut on the foot. Everlane is our go-to for elevated, stylish basics, and there take on a square toed ballet flat does not disappoint. We love the dusty rose, but it comes in four other colors as well. Aeyde’s black flat has an even squarer toe, if you’re looking to fully commit to the trend.

If you really want to think outside the ballet box, Jil Sander’s two-tone square toed pair is for you. The combination of black and dark brown is unbearably chic, and the silver ring around your ankle is the kind of beautiful detail that make them an MVP of any closet.

Maybe you’re a ballet flat purist. We get it, there’s no need to mess with the classics. You can’t get more classic than Tuckernuck’s navy shoe, from the ribbon to the shape to the bow. It feels a little bit fresher in navy than standard black.

You can’t go wrong with Chanel. The gold with black toe is a flashier take, but the shape is timeless. If the gold is a little too much for you, their black lambskin quilted flat is the one for you.
