Say Goodbye to Bad Hair Days With These Headbands

Say Goodbye to Bad Hair Days With These Headbands

HEADBANDS

There have never been more reasons to wear headbands, except for maybe the first two seasons of Gossip Girl when Blair Waldorf single handedly created a trend. Headbands are low-effort, which is our dressing ethos right now. They add instant panache and style to your outfit if you, like us, are doing a lot of video calling right now. And finally, they turn any bad hair day into a surprisingly chic one.

We’re not the only ones who think so, because major designers and celebrities have been rolling out stylish headbands for a few seasons. Even Duchess Kate seems to agree, who’s been wearing color-coordinated headbands to many of her events the in the past year.

There are levels to the headband game, of course, and you can start small. This cream braided headband is affordable, and easy to wear. This cheery red gingham one makes me want to go out for a (socially distant and responsible) picnic. A jolt of hot pink is the perfect way to get in on the neon trend in an easy, low commitment way. One of my favorites, if you’re looking to indulge a little bit, is Prada’s classic black padded logo headband. It even comes in a pretty pastel pink, say that five times fast.

The higher difficulty level headbands are bigger in size and embellishment. That could mean tons of pretty faux-pearls, like this showstopper from Jennifer Behr, or this knotted black and crystal version that really brings the drama. I love this one in snakeskin, which I pretty much consider a neutral with a little extra flair. And if you’re talking about animal print, I can’t forget about leopard, like this trendy headband. In fact, I love it so much that I picked out another leopard headband.
