Tie-Dye Isn’t Just For Kids Anymore

The refreshingly grown up takes on the trend.

Tie-Dye Isn’t Just For Kids Anymore

Like a lot of great trends, I first noticed tie-dye at Ralph Lauren. Last year, they released an entire summer collection with tie-dye sweaters, oxfords, and pants. It looked beachy and summery, but still elevated.  Interesting, I thought, and then forgot about it. One year later, tie-dye seems to be everywhere. There’s even an infamous tie-dye sweatsuit that popped up on everyone’s Instagram, thanks to targeted ads during quarantine.

And you know what? I love it now. I even DIY’d some sweatshirts with my granddaughter. The key to making sure it doesn’t look too amateur or childish? I’ve found that, like most things, a blue-and-white color palette makes it work. This indigo cashmere sweater from J.Crew is the perfect example. It even references my other favorite trend at the moment, stripes! This cotton crewneck from Splendid is what I used as a reference for my own project. And this one I found over at Goop keeps things cool with an asymmetrical dye job.

You don’t have to go with blue, though. As long as there’s just one or two colors, it still works. This incredibly soft cotton tee from J.Crew is a cotton candy pink. These teal green socks are the perfect pop of color to wear with white jeans and your sneakers. This boxy t-shirt from Everlane in peachy pink will carry right through fall, and their lavender one is just as good.

Maybe you don’t want the grown-up, a little more restrained tie-dye. You want the real deal. Look no further, and allow me to present: the rainbow tie-dye crocs. And rubber rainbow Birkenstock sandals. Finally, this sweatshirt from Anthropologie does all the colors of the rainbows, but in muted pastels.

When most of us hear GLP-1, we immediately think o When most of us hear GLP-1, we immediately think of Ozempic, Wegovy, weight loss, and all the controversy surrounding these medications.
But what if weight loss is only part of the story?
There's growing research into what these drugs might mean for everything from heart health and inflammation to sleep apnea, addiction, and even Alzheimer's.
So are we looking at something that could fundamentally change how we approach health and aging? Or are we getting a little ahead of the science?
Today we're joined by Dr. Melanie Dewar to help us separate the facts from the hype and explore what these medications may—and may not—be able to do.
