What I’m Loving For March

It's all about clean, crisp white this month.
by Susan Feldman February 26, 2021
What I’m Loving For March

Most of the country just went though a devastating cold spell, so I’m looking ahead to brighter and better days in March. I mean literally brighter, with higher temps and lots of sun. Maybe that’s why I’m so into white right now. March is going to be all about monochromatic and tone on tone dressing for me. It’s clean, it’s crisp, and it elevates every look.

White Jeans

You know I have a soft spot for white jeans. I just love the way they look, no matter the silhouette. But I get that jeans are personal, so you need the right fit. For me, I love a slouchy boyfriend but there’s a slightly skinnier fit I’ve been feeling lately too. This Levi’s cropped pair is perfect for hotter temps.

White Shirts

Don’t overthink it, go for the classics. For me, that means crisp poplin with a slightly oversized fit. Gap has a great one, of course. I love J.Crew’s linen version. Everlane’s Japanese Oxford lends some crisp edge to the basic silhouette. If you feel like splurging, Jenni Kayne’s boyfriend shirt or Tibi’s Shirting Oversized Shirt are both worthy of it.

White Tees

Price wise, you can’t beat Everlane’s cotton crew. I love the drape of this v-neck from Splendid. Madewell’s ribbed t-shirt is super soft and well-priced. Rag & Bone’s The Tee is a little on the pricey side, but if you spend a lot of time in t-shirts than you should spend some money on them.

White Sweatshirts

Layering is the key to staying warm in spring. Slip into a cozy sweatshirt in white to elevate it. I love the balloon sleeve on this sweatshirt. This oversized hoodie sweatshirt is equally cozy and cool.

Sneakers

New season, new squeaky white sneaks. Adidas Stan Smiths, these Sezane sneakers with a giant bow, or these Nike Daybreak sneakers for some retro appeal.

Hats

Sun protection is the name of the game, and a hat is the most stylish way to do it. This straw hat with a turquoise accent is great for lounging on the beach. But if you’re feeling a little out there, how about a nautical bucket hat?

Gold Chain

Time to add a little bit of bling. Gold chains always transform my t-shirt and jeans into a fully stylized outfit. Laura Lombardi’s Franca necklace is a favorite – it looks expensive but is actually affordable. Julie Vos’s coin pendant is the perfect everyday piece.
