Well, September was a whirlwind. I ran a big golf tournament that I had been planning for more than six months, and the theme was Unleash Your Power. It was so much fun and worth every minute we spent making it special.
That’s not to say I didn’t manage to squeeze in a little shopping. It was September, after all, and I was starting to put together what I think of as my “uniform” for fall.
I found so many great pieces that I know are going to make getting dressed when the temperature finally drops a whole lot easier. And I have to say, I am REALLY loving what I’ve found for the colder months.
Fair warning: a few of these are investment pieces. But I’m willing to spend a little more on the things I know I’ll wear day in and day out. If the cost per wear gets low enough, I can almost convince myself I’m saving money. 🙂
Let me highlight a few and the rest you can find below. Here’s what I bought—and loved—in September…
This may literally be the perfect cashmere sweater. I loved mine so much that I just ordered it in a second color, which pretty much says it all. You’re definitely going to see me coming and going in this one all fall.
And BTW, it’s a dead ringer for The Row’s Ophelia sweater—with one big difference: The Row version is a wool/cashmere blend, while this one is 100% cashmere. So good.

Citizens of Humanity Slim Straight-Leg Jeans
I’m loving these Citizens of Humanity jeans—and yes, they’re black. It’s been a while since I’ve been excited about black denim, but all of a sudden the right black jean is looking totally right again. I love the slim, straight-leg shape, and they come in several other washes that I’m now seriously considering.

Toteme Calf Hair Kitten-Heel Pumps
Yes, they’re a bit of a splurge, but I LOVE them. The calf hair and kitten heel make them feel special, but they’re still incredibly wearable. I already know they’re going to be my go-to shoe because they work with everything—jeans, skirts, dresses, you name it. And best of all—and you knew I was going to say this—they are so comfortable. For me, that makes the splurge a whole lot easier to justify.
