I can’t believe it’s my 69th birthday. Do I feel older? A little! But I feel wiser, funnier, and more interesting than ever, too. If this is what 69 feels like, I think it’s going to be a good year. Below, a few of the dream birthday presents I’d love to help me celebrate.
As you can see by the header image, one of my birthday presents came a little early: this stunning blue and white floral number from Posse. I love the drop-waist silhouette, the flattering ruching, and the retro vibe. It feels like something Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn would’ve worn in an old movie! I have dresses on the brain a lot these days, like this wallet-friendly crochet number from H&M I’ll happily throw over a bathing suit the rest of the summer.
I love putting accessories on a birthday list because when else can you ask for designer sunglasses? Celine’s square, cream colored sunglasses look like something straight out of a Slim Aarons portrait. You can never go wrong with jewelry. Parker Thatch’s long link necklace is the perfect piece to personalize – just throw on a few of your favorite charms. How about a pair of shoes so pretty, they look like jewelry? Emme Parsons makes a pair of minimal strappy sandals with a brass toe holder. That’s right, a brass toe holder. It’s the chicest toe ring you’ll ever see.
Who’s ready for a seriously big ticket item? While I’m not expecting to get this, it’s always fun to throw one kind of insane thing on the list. And Khaite’s Lotus bag is insane – insanely beautiful, that is. I love the slouchy shape, the chic black and tan color palette, and the thick shoulder strap that doesn’t dig into my shoulder.
