Today is my 68th birthday, and there’s no one I’d rather be celebrating it with than my ITG family. In honor of the big day, I put together an edit of my dream birthday wishlist. There are statement pieces that are fun like my gold pants for right now and investment pieces like chocolate brown suede boots as we look ahead towards fall. The older I get, the better I get – and isn’t that worth celebrating?
Birthdays are supposed to be fun, and what’s more fun than gold sequin pants? These Karen Miller wide-leg pants paired with a crisp J.Crew tuxedo button down are the perfect birthday dinner outfit. Plus, when the holidays roll around I’ll be wearing them to as many holiday parties as possible.
This time of year, I always start looking forward to fall (and fall fashions). That, for me, means jackets and boots. Nili Lotan’s Nolwenn jacket would bring a bit of edge to my wardrobe. I love the military-inspired lines, made out of a luxe wool blend. The gold buttons keep it fun! And in the spirit of cool-girl glam, you could never go wrong with this Rag & Bone lambskin leather blazer.
On the boot side of things, I’m looking for something beyond my usual black heeled booties. Saint Laurent’s Chelsea boots are very mod, but the brown chocolate suede makes them feel a little bit more approachable than basic black leather.
I’ve been on a bit of an accessories kick lately, and I can’t think of a better gift for my birthday than jewelry. I’m a huge fan of Irene Neuwirth. Her bohemian and feminine designs canoe worn fore everyday or dressed up dazzlingly. This pair of gold chandelier earrings are a perfect example! A gorgeous, large Gucci scarf might be an investment, but it’s worth every penny. I wear them around my shoulders, on the handles of bags, and tied around my neck or ponytail!
