Since we’re all spending so much time cooking at home, it’s never been more important to make sure you’re using clean cookware. Have you seen the movie Dark Waters? If not, you need to. It’s about a lot of things, and I don’t want to spoil it for you, but the major takeaway is that it taught me about forever chemicals.
What’s a forever chemical? Teflon, for one, which is what makes all your non-stick pans so non-sticky. Generally, Teflon (and the chemical compounds that make it up) are stable. But when you heat it really hot, which happens when you know, you’re cooking with it, the compound can break down and emit harmful chemicals into the air. Scary stuff, right? But lucky for us, there are a few different direct-to-consumer cookware companies selling clean, green cooking machines.
So, in the middle of a frenzied corona re-organization spell, I tossed all my Teflon-coated pans. Out with the old, in the with the new. Which for me meant a cream 10-piece set from Caraway, which is as beautiful as it is efficient.
And lucky for you guys, they think pretty highly of us too, because they’re giving all Groovers a discount count. You can head to their website to shop the selection, put anything you want into your cart, and add INTHEGROOVE10 to the discount bar during your checkout for 10% off your entire purchase.
We also love GreenPan, which has a stainless steel look if that fits the vibe of your kitchen these days. There’s really no wrong brand to pick, because any non-Teflon pan is making your kitchen safer and healthier for you.
