If you’re buying something new right now, make sure you’ll still want to wear it next year. This year’s faux-fur trend is glamorous, fun, and will cheer up any gray January day. Shop the coats we’re throwing over everything from party dresses to sweatpants below.
When it comes to getting dressed, I love injecting a little bit of drama into every outfit. A short faux fur jacket is an instant dose of drama. For LA, I’m more drawn tot a shorter, fluffier jacket that’s not too hot. I love J.Crew’s chocolate brown bomber. Look at that fun collar! I love the 70s-inspired, rock-star approved silhouette of this Mango jacket, which I would wear with dark wash denim and pointy-toed boots.Gap’s faux-fur bomber gets you the look for only 118.
Don;t be afraid to really go for it, either. I am obsessed with this fun, leopard-print faux number. Notice the bell sleeves and the ruching. It’s a little on the expensive side, but it looks it. I also love A.L.C.’s vest. It’s perfect for warmer climates (like where I am in Los Angeles) where you don’t always want a full coat. The brand styled it with a nice belt cinching your waist.
There’s something inherently retro about faux-fur. My mind immediately goes to glamorous looks from the 60s-80s, and sometimes it’s more fun to lean into that. This black fur stole feels ripped from a Slim Aarons photo, especially if it’s draped over a festive dress or shimmery skirt for holiday parties. This scarf would be an especially chic touch to an all-black outfit.
