We love BeautyPie’s affordable-but-luxurious products, and we love Jenna Lyons and her singular, unique style, so it’s no surprise that we love their new collection of five shades of sizzling, summer-y shades of nail polish. It’s not just the colors that we love, but the formulas too. It’s chip-resistant, fast-drying, and super glossy. Coconut oil keeps your nails from getting too dried out.
Ipanema is a bright raspberry pink that feels punchy instead of Pepto. And, according to Jenna Lyons, it’s also the exact color of Mick Jagger’s couch – one of her favorite pieces in interiors.
Sunlight is a personal favorite of mine. Think of sunsets tinged with golden pinks, your favorite piece of rose gold jewelry, or the pinky-nude inside of a conch shell. It’s color but it’ll complement your summer tan, not show it up.
Nude Beach is Jenna’s favorite shade, if she has to pick one. It’s a pretty nude but with just enough color to make it still pop. Jenna says, “I’m really careful with the word nude, because my nude is different from someone else’s nude.” While that’s thoughtful, we can happily report that this nude works on every shade of skin, even if it’s not a true skin match.
Neon Kiss is a poppy, neon-y orange color that reminds me of my favorite apertivo: the Aperol Spritz. It’s for the color-loving maximalists, and it looks just as good at happy hour as it does with your favorite jeans and t-shirts.
Sangria is just the perfect classic red. It’ll work right now for long summer nights, and it’ll work later during the holiday party circuit. Jenna says one of her references for this color was Carolyn Bessette, and she completely nailed it.
Beauty Pie is a direct-to-consumer membership model, which means you have to pay a fee (they have day passes!), but once you’re in – you won’t believe the prices. Just enter INTHEGROOVESENTME at check out for $10 off your first purchase, which basically covers the cost of the day pass.
