Millennial Makeup? Not So Fast Glossier.

Millenials do NOT get to have all the highlighting fun!
by Brianna Porter October 24, 2018
Millennial Makeup? Not So Fast Glossier.

The little beauty brand that started it all – the trendy Instagrams, the no-makeup makeup, the tagline declaring “skin first.” Emily Weiss, often called the Millenial Estee Lauder, started the Glossier brand after years of running her blog Into the Gloss. She built up a huge following by talking to women, some famous, some not, mostly millennial, about all the products they really love…and then she raised millions of dollars.

So what’s to keep the perennials out of the Glossier chapel? Is there an age detector or an electrified fence? No, there’s not. There are actually many SKUs in the growing line of Glossier product that speak to us as well. Why shouldn’t we jump on the wagon, too?

And if you live in New York City or Los Angeles, you should check out the beautiful Glossier showrooms!

Here are three products that everyone should have, regardless of their age or their natural collagen levels:

Cloud Paint Duo, $30

Rather than the desired “flush” of good health, sometimes powder blush can make my face look drier and well- powdery. Cloud Paint is a great remedy because it’s a liquid! I don’t know of any other liquid blushes on the market with this consistency, and I’m obsessed. cloud paint was inspired by the colors of New York City summer sunsets. The six colors all serve different purposes. The color goes on fairly sheer but you can build on it without caking.  Use it for shading, contouring or yep–blushing!

Haloscope, $22

Highlighting draws attention to the parts of your face that the light naturally hits, like your brow bone, cheekbones, nose, and cupid’s bow. When done correctly, you have a dewy, radiant glow that resembles a delicious glazed donut. Glossier’s Haloscope is the perfect starter highlighter,  The formula works in two ways: with real crystals on the outer ring for shine, and a hydrating core in the center to make sure your skin is never dry.

Boy Brow, $16

About the same time that mine began to disappear, young women began obsessing about brows. I hate doing my brows. But I also hate when they look unkempt. Enter Boy Brow, a brow gel and a magic wand all in one. The Boy Brow comes in blonde, brown, black, and clear. You just untwist the cap  and brush the mascara-like wand over your arches. The formula fills out your brows, as well as delivering some color (unless you have clear)  which is perfect for me, because I’m lazy.
