Sometimes, figuring out what skincare products work for you can be so overwhelming. After trying an endless amount of products, I’ve finally got it down. Below, my favorite skincare essentials I use to keep my skin happy, hydrated, and glowing.
You have to start with the basics: cleaning your skin appropriately. I don’t wear that much makeup in my day-to-day, but there is still so much grime that settles on your skin during the day. Especially if you, like me, try to stay outside and active. My favorite products are French drugstore finds! Bioderma’s Micellar water is my go-to. It doesn’t strip your skin or leave you feeling dry, and it won’t break the bank. After the first cleanse, I go in with LaRoche-Posay’s Toleraine cleanser to really feel fresh.
There are so many skincare products, it’s hard to know what actually works. I put the majority of my skincare budget towards high-tech, specially formulated brands and products. And listen, I know some of these are not cheap. But they work. SkinCeutical’s eye cream is the only thing that I feel like targets my puffy and/or dark eye circles. Dr. Dennis Gross’s Alpha Beta peel pads are packed with alpha and beta hydroxy acids. But what is that? Think of them as a mini facial. They exfoliate dead skin cells, and hydrate the newly exposed layer of skin.
If you want glowing, dewy skin, the most important thing is keeping your skin hydrated. And nothing has ever hydrated my skin better than Augustinus Bader’s The Cream. It’s a hydrating moisturizer, but it does so much more than that. It also improves tone and texture. During winter, when the air is so dry, I even use the heavier version, The Rich Cream. And when my skin really needs it, I layer on Oak Essentials’s Ritual Oil.
