Don’t be afraid to show a little leg this summer! Whether you prefer a long, tailored Bermuda short or something a little more casual to kick around in, we put together a list of our favorite shorts to help you keep cool all summer long.
One of the neatest tricks with a lot of these shorts? They come with a matching top! Consider the set I’m wearing in the header image: this cute little striped number from Amazon. COS’s stone colored linen shorts are Bermuda shorts length, and just as breezy with the elbow-length button down. They also have a lightweight seersucker set in a sky blue shade that feels particularly summery.
A linen short is a great way to keep the heat at bay, and I usually gravitate towards a more tailored silhouette. At least when I’m putting together a true Outfit. Something like these pleated linen Mango shorts or these Talbots linen shorts would look great with a more dressed up top or blazer, and some cute espadrilles. Remember Julia Roberts towards the end of Pretty Woman? That’s the vibe I’m going for. If I’m just throwing on and going? These Tropez shorts from J.Crew usually do the trick. It comes in a longer version, too!
You know I don’t love a Daisy Duke anymore. That’s why I’ve been eyeing some knee length denim, like this dark wash pair from the Gap. This white pair from Mango has a wider leg and feels like it could be easier to pull off. A pair with a red-and-white stripe also keeps it from feeling too young, I think. And speaking of color, I’ve been eyeing these cherry red J.Crew shorts with just the right amount of stretch.
