Nothing says summer like stripes! Stripes can be whatever you want them to be, in any style. They can be bold and graphic, lending a modern feel. They can be nautical and beachy, in crisp white and navy. They can be preppy, on crisp poplin shirts. Any way you wear them, they’ll look good in the summer sun. We found the best striped shirts, dresses, skirts, and everything else you could possibly want.
One of the first things that pops into my mind whenever I’m talking about stripes is the classic French Breton. A little bit retro, a little bit preppy, and all the way chic. Tuckernuck’s Neige-Marine moderne shirt and & Other Stories’ Breton top are great versions of the classic. I love Kule’s updated version, which comes in cheery colors like a green-and-white and pink-and-white stripe.
A striped dress can be an easy go-to summer outfit, so the only thing you have to think about are which pair of sandals you’re going to wear. This lavender-and-white poplin dress from Banana Republic is breezy and billowing, and this brown-and-white one is a maxi version of the same dress.
I love when a piece plays with different proportions of stripes for a mix-matched look. This AYR dress in cobalt blue and white with ruching is a perfect example. It’s so much more interesting than if al the stripes were the same! This Ann Taylor dress plays with color and sizing, so you get the best of both worlds with a rich raspberry and ocean blue color palette.
There’s just something about a cabana stripe. I love them! They’re so summery and easy-to-wear, whether it’s a cozy sweater or a cute accessory. This Kule tote bag in pink and red, this Gap linen button down, and this Clare V. Beach tote with a matching clutch are some of my favorite examples.
