I don’t know about you, but I’ve been out of travel practice. Packing is an art and mastering the perfect airport outfit is the pinnacle of it all. The outfit might seem basic, but it’s hard to be efficient! You’re going to want a comfortable pant, probably in black because it’s flattering and goes with everything. You can go for an athleisure pant that can trick people into thinking it’s a trouser, like this Spanx Flare or these Zella pants.
Layer in a shirt and a jean jacket that you’ll be able to rewear all weekend. ATM’s cotton crewneck t-shirt is a favorite, as is Madewell’s Vintage Tee. If you want to be a little more dressed up, you can’t go wrong with one of Frank & Eileen’s button-downs, either the Eileen or the Joedy. I love the oversized fit of this Good American jean jacket. Fidelity Denim’s jacket is a slimmer fit. Finish it off with a comfy scarf like this one from Tory Burch, and a straw hat you can wear all vacation long.
A cute pair of sneakers is the perfect double-duty shoe. They work for the plane, and for any walking around or sightseeing you might be doing. They can even work with any dresses or skirts you have for nights out if wherever you’re going has cobblestone streets. This Chloe platform sneaker with rainbow threading will go with everything. This Nike Blazer has a similar color palette and high fashion edge for a little less. And of course, you can’t go wrong with a Stan Smith.
Finally, you can’t travel in style without the right suitcases. I got a Rimowa Cabin Essential suitcase for Christmas a few years ago, and it’s one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten. It’s a breeze on wheels, it maximizes space, and it just looks good. Throw in a cute backpack carry-on like this one from Longchamp, and you’re ready to go.
