One of the biggest keys to making this boot an everyday essential? A comfortable heel! Right now, I’m really into a kitten heel. I find it more flattering than a flat boot and (for my style) a little more modern than a chunkier heel. And to balance out the kitten heel, I prefer a sleeker, more 70s inspired silhouette. Sam Edelman’s Taylin boot, Veronica Beard’s Lisa boot in suede, and Reformation’s Remy boot all have the right amount of witchy appeal.
I’ve been really loving J.Crew’s shoes lately, which perfectly reinterpret so much of the high fashion trends into a wearable, everyday design. The Stevie, which is a tighter fitting calf, is beautiful in either black or brown suede. Their Piper boot is also very striking, with a chunkier heel and a pretty pointed toe. It’s not exactly J.Crew prices, but these Loeffler Randall boots stopped me in my tracks. I love the curved line of the heel, the sleek toe, and the very on-trend chocolate brown color.
Maybe a kitten heel isn’t right for you. I get it! I totally understand. There’s still a lot of great options for you. These black Reformation riding boots check all the boxes: practical but pretty, casual but can be dressed up. I love the almond toe and more classic heel of these Sam Edelman boots, which conveniently come in a pretty tan suede or a black leather for all your wardrobe needs.
