Less is more when it comes to makeup these days. Gone are the days of heavy foundations and dramatic blush – and it’s not just because I barely leave the house anymore. My skin actually looks better when I use multitasking products like CC cream and a little bit of concealer. But don’t take my word for it! I talked to a makeup artist to get the scoop on the best makeup for women over 50. So let me show you how I get out the door with 6 products in less than 6 minutes!!!

CC Cream
A CC cream is the best of both worlds: it’s coverage but it’s not cakey. It just gives you that freshly filtered look, like your skin on its best day. I’ve stopped using foundation because it can settle unflatteringly, but this It Cosmetics CC Cream is so good, I don’t miss foundation. It even has SPF 50! This Erborian CC Cream is another favorite.
Eyebrow Pencil
Eyebrows frame your whole face, so doing a little bit of maintenance can make a huge difference. As you get older, your eyebrows can get thinner or more uneven. Use an eyebrow pencil to fluff and fill out, like this Kevyn Aucoin brush or this Brow Wiz from Anastasia.
Concealer
Concealer can do a lot more than just hide things, it can actually color correct. I’ve been using this Stila color correction palette because it comes with all the colors I’ll ever need. Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Away concealer is a great
Lipstick
I don’t need to explain the power of a great lipstick to you, so I’ll just list some of my favorites. This Westman Atelier lip suede palette, for all you green beauty fans. This Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick and this Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance lipstick, too.
Mascara
Mascara can make your eyes look bigger and more awake, especially when you also use an eyelash curler. Pat McGrath’s Fetisheyes Mascara is a cult-favorite in the beauty industry, and Kevyn Aucoin’s mascara is another insider pick.
Bronzer
Since I’m all about sun protection, gone are the days of laying out and catching a tan. Thank god for bronzer, then, which still gives me a sun-kissed look. Chanel’s Healthy Glow powder, Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Finish Bronzing Powder, and Trish McEvoy’s bronzer are all favorites.
