I’ve never felt luckier or more grateful to live somewhere I love, surrounded by things that inspire me and my family. But that doesn’t mean that there are some things I would love to change, or just freshen up a little bit. Think of these more as home upgrades, ways to refresh the rooms and places you’ve been spending all your time in lately.
I’ve never cooked this much in my life, and one thing I’ve really noticed is how the right cookware can make cooking more fun, or at the very least less stressful. Not to mention healthier, since non-stick Teflon pans can carry lead or other toxic metals into your food. Caraway’s chic cream ceramic cookware is a newer, safer way of cooking with non-stick pans. Great Jones is another new direct-to-consumer line, and you’ve probably seen their brightly-colored Dutch Ovens on your Instagram feed.
Everyone knows I love setting a table. Cloth napkins and pretty placemats help every meal feel a little more special, like this set of summery block print napkins. Or these pale blue Serena & Lily ones that practically scream summer. I also love this mix-n-match set of blue checks, stripes, and ginghams to create an effortless but interesting vibe at any table.
What does your work from home situation look like? If it’s overflowing with papers and cords, take an afternoon to clear it off. Add a couple pretty frames, like this bamboo and silver stunner or this pretty sterling silver frame with ribbons. Put your pens and pencils into this acrylic holder, so they’re not rolling around in your desk. Finally, light a Santal candle and get to work.
