I take my lip care seriously. There’s nothing worse than that tight, itchy feeling your lips get when they’re cracked. And I know it’s spring now, but now is not the time to ease up on your lip balm. In fact, it’s the perfect time to do a little extra lip care.
Sara Happ makes some of my favorite lip balms and glosses. They look and feel like luxury makeup products, but they actually heal and nourish any cracked lips. The Sweet Clay Lip Mask is packed with clay, shea butter, and other rejuvenating ingredients. Pair it with their Lip Scrub to really treat yourself and exfoliate! Finish off your newly polished lips with some Ballet Slip for a glossy, gorgeous look.
If you’re willing to splurge a little bit, the Augustinus Bader Lip Balm is unbelievable, like everything else in his product line. Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Lip Balm is just as high tech as her other skincare, with tons of avocado oil, beeswax, and vitamin e.
Bite Beauty, a pioneer in the green beauty space, has an intensive agave lip mask made from all-natural ingredients. It’s vegan, too, if that’s your jam. Fellow green beauty queen Tata Harper has added a lip balm to her line, which is a Neuropeptide Lip Treatment. Drunk Elephant’s Lippe Balm is non-toxic and comes in cute yellow packaging.
You don’t have to splash out a lot of money for a great balm. Rose Salve Lip Balm is a favorite of mine, and at $5.50, I can keep one in each your purse, your nightstand, and your car. Mario Badescu is a drugstore favorite. Kiehl’s Lip Balm is packed with Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, and Squalane for maximum hydration.
