We have a lot of time to ourselves right now. Some people are using it to pick up new hobbies, some people are trying to learn new languages, and those are all worthy pursuits. But sometimes, I just want to do something that’s going to make me feel better. It’s time for some good old-fashioned beauty treatments, the kind that I usually put off because I don’t have the time.
For example, maybe you’ve heard of the cult favorite foot peel. It’s a peel that takes layers and layers of dead skin off your feet, leaving you with baby smooth and soft feet. Does it sound gross? It is, at least a little bit, but it takes a while for all the layers to peel off, so right now is the perfect time to do it. And while you’re at it, do your hands too.
When was the last time you took a bath? A bath takes time – time to fill it up, time to sit in it. I like to bring a book with me, but of course you can just sit, relax, and soak. Herbivore’s coconut bath milk soak will leave your skin silky smooth and moisturized. Goop’s The Martini bath salts are formulated as “an emotional detox”, which sounds like something we could all use right now. Susanne Kaufmann’s Mallow Blossom bubble bath is an all-natural way to nourish your skin and spirit.
Missing your facialist? Yeah, same. t’s time to invest in some heavy duty at-home skincare tools, like this microneedling regeneration tool from Violet Grey. It’s not as scary as it sounds, we promise. The teeny tiny needles trigger the skin’s rejuvenation response, resulting in new skin cells.
Or maybe you just want to sneak away from whoever you’re quarantining with, put on a sheet mask, and have a little time to yourself. In that case, here are some of our favorites in no particular order: Tatcha, SKII, and Avene.
