There are some brands you just know you can rely on. Veronica Beard is one of those for me, especially when the temperatures drop. Their exquisitely tailored blazers are a personal favorite, and I love playing around with their signature dickies (that are chic!!!). Their denim feels just as sharp and fresh, and you can’t go wrong with easy, knit staples you can layer all fall long .
Let’s start with the stars of the show: the blazers. The brand’s signature tailoring is sharp but still modern, and their reimagined houndstooth jacket is an absolute stand out. It’s equal parts English equestrian and American academic. Their Tata jacket is a more feminine take on houndstooth, with a nipped-in waist and fringe for a Chanel-esque lady who lunches vibe.
Their Miller jacket in classic black is a timeless black blazer, complete with double breasted silver buttons for some added flash. It also comes in a navy with gold buttons variation, which I sometimes prefer because black can feel too harsh. How about a brown leather version when you really want indulge?
Up next: sweaters! When sweater weather rolls around, there’s nothing better than slipping into a luxurious oversized knit. The Bertilda is a fresh take on the cable-knit, mixing and matching weaves in a lush cream color. The Toril Chevron sweater has an extra thick rib for a textural element that immediately adds interest. The Jurnee Cashmere turtleneck in chocolate brown is a stand out on its own, or layered underneath a jacket.
Don’t forget about footwear! They have some updated takes on classic silhouettes, like the clog and a fall boot. I love the height on their Hendrix clog, in either a brown or black leather with a sleek gold buckle. Everyone’s wearing kitten heels this season, and this sleek mule in a brown suede goes with everything from jeans to skirts to sweater dresses.
