Why Big Chains Are The Perfect Affordable Accessory

We have big chain energy.

Why Big Chains Are The Perfect Affordable Accessory

Sometimes, all you need is the perfect accessory to make your outfit feel fresh and exciting. Even if it’s the pieces you wear the most often! Right now, chain necklaces are the perfect accessory for us. And this is the rare case when bigger truly is better. With chunky links, the necklace’s oversized vibe instantly feels glamorous and a bit impractical, like all fun statement jewelry should be.

We first took note of this trend when we saw high-fashion houses like Prada and Balenciaga play around with the jewelry piece to great effect. Right now, the choker is the trendiest length. Ben Armure’s extra-large curb chain collar is a classic. Looking for something a little more….extra? This Lizzie Fortunato chain necklace is also embellished with baroque pearls, giving you a romantic and feminine option. If you’re getting a little tired of gold, then Mango’s XL choker in an oxblood resin is a refreshing seasonal take on the trend.

We’ve always been a fan of a link because there’s something effortless about them. If you have a longer chain, then it can do double duty as an elegant long piece and slightly edgier choker. This Vince Camuto gold and crystal number is one of our favorite examples. Nest’s necklace in horn and bone will definitely stand out from the sea of metallic necklaces.

And it’s not just gold either! There’s a silver resurgence happening in accessories right now, and this Prada silver ball-and-chain link necklace is a sure sign that it’ll be trickling down soon. John Hardy’s jewelry is the perfect marriage of masculine and feminine design influences, and this silver bamboo link necklace with industrial references shows why it works so well.
