I am truly obsessed with my wide leg denim. I love the drama of them and how comfortable they are. There’s even something a little bit sexy and subversive about them. The fashion industry clearly agrees with me, because it seems like every It Girl is rocking their own pair this season. We found our favorite pairs to share with you, so you can find a pair you love too.
One of my favorite things about wide leg jeans – the versatility! You can go for 70s inspired formal glamour with a pair of dark indigo trouser jeans like these from J.Crew or something more slouchy and casual like these Mango jeans. For what it’s worth, I think Banana Republic’s Puddle Jean combines the two vibes perfectly. The extra few inches give you extra length that looks so flattering with a heeled boot. It comes in a darker wash, too!
As always with fashion, the devil is in the details. Frame’s tailored wide leg pair has seamed detailing and welt pockets that offer a nautical moment. Gap’s High Rise Stride pair is a similar look, in washed black, at a much friendlier price point.
When it comes to more expensive jeans, I find myself drawn to MOTHER more than other brands. The fabric is so nice, and I always feel amazing in them. This pair of Hustler Roller Sneak jeans is the best of the best. The perfectly whiskered dark-blue wash, the 70s-inspired cut, and the touch of stretch make them one of my favorite pairs of jeans ever. I also love them in the darker, more formal wash.
And finally, I don’t know what they’re doing, but Gap has been looking really good lately. These lower-rise wide-leg Stride jeans fit like a dream.
